In today's society we are introduced to newer things in life as people. New inventions and technics are brought to us to make our lives easier. Students struggle to achieve with poor studying habits and lack of motivations. But lately those new inventions have been affecting us as students throughout our academic lives. It has affected us in a way where we cannot achieve the set academic goals we have present in front of us. As a student we should focus on succeeding in class and in the real world. Today's technology have benefit us as students throughout the years of school, but seems to take a toll on us when it comes to social media. With poor preparation and social media taking the lead of everything, students cannot meet the goals for college. Some issues such as financial status and family support and also affect the progress of achieving an academic goals. Finances are one of the reason why it is an issue that it's difficult to achieve academic success. Students cannot buy the textbooks or class related materials because of the cost. So they have to work in order to pay for school, but that cut into coursework and class time sometimes. But other reliable resources such as applying for scholarships and financial aid can help but it is a slim chance some students may not receive the funds. So it can become frustrating to students because they cannot afford to go to college and not be able to graduate. Some graduated students work in summer to save up money to pay for classes but end up in debt with student loans. It can be stressful to complete financial aid early enough to be able to receive the amount of funds you need for the academic. Finances plays a role with affecting the progress of growing as a college student. Every students needs a string support systems when it comes to attending college. When attending college, it can be a big step in someone's life especially if it is your first time attending a four year college. New environment, new people and different aspect of traditional culture can affect you in a way where it can be overwhelming for the first time. With the lack of support in college, students can have a hard time to adapt to the college life and get their work done in the process. Some students go to college because of pressure or influence motivations. Friendships with people that pressure you to attend parties and social activities instead of studying and completing your assignments can play a part in lack of support. There are many things on campus that can help you stay focus, especially when you want to adjust to college. There are people that can support you throughout college such as faculty and staff, even upperclassmen that might be in the same major as you. So with the positive motivation and support system, student can manage to adjust to the college. Throughout your four years in college, studying for exams and finals can be stressful as it already is. Poor studying habits can lead to poor grades for the semester. With financial means and family support, students can struggle with their person drives. If it is your first time to college, then the same method that you used in high school may not work in college due to so much demand from completing assignments. In order to succeed in college classes, you have to properly schedule regular reading, studying time, and work time. Another huge issue that suppresses students from reaching their academic goals is the world of technology and social media. There are several forms of social media such as music, tv, movies, video games, and the internet. Throughout the years of technology and social media, has been a distraction for a student that try to do well in college. In my conclusion, students should stay focus and pay attention in class. They should ask for help when they need and try to look for a strong support system to help you get through college. There is always someone that is looking forward to help you every step of the step whether it is with class or extracurricular activities. On your school campus, there is plenty of resources for student to go check out such as organizations and counseling services. Students has the resources that can help, it is their job to go look for them. It is also good to prepare for college if it's your first year in college. Make sure that you get all the information that you need in order get through college. There is a lot of things that can interfere with your academic success, but you can look through the obstacles and get through it.

Overall Essay
  • Is any important material left unsaid?
  • Is any material repetitious and unnecessary?
  • Has the writer tried to incorporate "voice" in the essay so that it has his/her distinctive mark?
  • Are there changes needed in word choice, sentence length and structure, etc.?
  • Are the quotations (if required) properly cited?
  • Has the essay been proofread for spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc.?
  • Does the essay have an interesting and appropriate title?
